    Default 4th Class

There's something about MMOs that just says "we need 4 versatile classes to make for a jolly good time.

Those 4 classes obviously being along the lines of:
    Warrior
    Mage
    Archer
    Rogue

Pocket legends is a great game and has done so much in such a short time although the game is missing one dire roll or class in the MMORPG scene.....

    The Rogue/Assassin archetype.
Roll: In most cases this class would be a high burst DPS class (like the Avian Archer) but more of a mid to melee range, and focusing on Crit rating over Hit.
Weapons: Claws/Daggers would be the weapon of choice (possibly duel-wield), and maybe throwing stars/knives for a mid range attack.
Equips: concealing ninja-esque attire with incredibly low armor.
Attributes: Rogue or Assassin would usually be a stealth type class meaning high dodge or avoidability to make up for the low armor.
DEX could be a good stat for this class but the best bet would be to make a new stat
LUK-Luck: A stat common to the rogue class in maplestory, ghost online, and wonderking.
    Or
AGI-Agility: A stat equivilent to LUK in most of the 3D MMOs.

    Example in Pocket Legends context:

Agility (or Luck): Increases your crit and dodge chance

Animal archetype: So every class seems to have a coinciding creature that goes hand in hand with the class
    the ursan bear warrior
    elven enchantress
    avian (eagle) archer
So, what animal would a rogue be? There are 3 I can think of.
    Fox
    Racoon
    or Badger.

I don't know, it just sounds a bit too simular to dagger archers. But if they could pull it off with ninja cloths ect, might work.

Anyways, for the races, a squirrle would also work a spider would also fit the descripion of agility and all, but that might be hard to animate in a way that is nice to look at.

You find the way the chars move around nice to look at?! 0.o lol

I personally think a bat would work nicely. Silent, dark, fast and very agile. Ultra keen senses.

best chance would be to push the enchantress into battle mage and add a cleric class, but I personally think the devs have done a great job making every class good and complete enough to leave no regret.

A monk would be fun, but it wouldn't rely on armor and weapons, so

I don't honestly see a point in adding a rogue class to the game if we have dagger archers.

skill set for rouges would be more melee based.

But basically, the main problem with new classes is the lack of stats. I mean, everyone is so cookie cutter build, adding all into 1 stat to equip your items of choice, then the rest into dex.

Haven't seen this discussed, but maybe we could have job specialization - i.e once you hit level 40, you have the option to (if you're an enchantress) choose between Healer, FireMage, IceMage or whatever [off the top of my head - im sure you guys will think of some better ones - I dont have huge MMO experience]. Just some sort of advancement that takes you down a different path. I played MapleGlobal quite a few years back, and they had a job tier setup, if anyone ever played that game.
Anyway, just a suggestion, it wouldn't require huge hassle over creation of another race, equips could be kept mostly the same - just with some tweaks for the different properties of each new "job" (i.e extra fire damage would be preferred on an item for the FireMage). I think it would be faiiirly easy to implement, and at the same time exponentially increase the variation in characters

The dagger is garbage so there really is no point to a rogue class. Even talons aren't very good weapons. The rogue would just end up being a cool looking class full of suck.

    CHAMELEON
    Assassin/Thief/Rouge class

    • Primary weapon: Double daggers
    • Can sneak up on bad guys to deal deadly dagger blows before they know what hit them.
    • Great dodging skills because of eyes that see in all directions.
    • Skill: "Cloak" (a la Predator, bottom pic) for temporary invisibility and added sneaking ability.
    • Skill: Can hurt his enemies with "Poisonous Tongue".
    • Skill: Hold onto your enemy with your prehensile tail so they can't escape your deadly blows.

Not only would the chameleon fit perfectly into this type of character, but just imagine how incredibly cool and unique a chameleon character would be in the game with those googly eyes, tail and scaly, green skin.

I dont really see a point in cloaking though. You want to go around killing monsters, not hiding from them. At most it would be a cheap way to dispel agro bosses, so they go whack someone else.

What a rouge would specialise in, is melee dps, and evade, and crits. (oh snap, sounds like a archer with evade and focus doesnt it)
So unless they make an impressive list of skills, its not really going to work.

But with things like quests and whatever else that might be added to this growing universe in the future, who knows, maybe cloaking would be a really useful skill (beyond the obvious of being completely invisible to your enemies) eventually. Mostly I just think a Chameleon would make for a really cool character, and they have a lot of unique things about them too that could easily be translated into things they could do as a character. Certainly make a lot of sense to me to use an animal that actually can camouflage itself as a kind of assassin/thief class.

Yeah daggers do suck which is why they'd be perfect. If you read my outline by weapons it says "probably duel-wield" meaning the rogue would have a dagger in each hand which equals twice the damage per attack. In fact, dagger damage could probably be lowered even more to make up for this.

    Here's an example:
let's say a Mage is wielding a random staff-
    (random numbers for example)
    damage range: 36-40
    DPS- 24

and a rogue is duel-wielding his daggers (identical in level to the Mage staff)
    mainhand dagger:
    damage range: 19-22
    DPS- 14
    offhand dagger:
    damage range: 19-22
    DPS- 14
    total damage range: 38-44
    total DPS- 28

    get it?

But it isn't the damaged that makes the dagger garbage. It's the speed. A rogue class should be all about SPEED. They are supposed to be stealthy and quick. But how the hell are they gonna be stealthy and quick with a weapon slower then a dang 1h sword. It just doesn't make sense.

Edit: I think a fox would be better btw.

Which is why Im saying dagger damage could be lowered in this scenario. What you're failing to see is duel-wield would mean twice the number of attacks.
So you have 2 daggers equipped, both with 1.0 attack speed. So because you have 2 daggers dishing out damage simultaneously we can divide the daggers attack speed by 2.
    1.0 attack speed/2 daggers = essentially 0.5 attack speed.
