    Default Weapon & Armor Linearity with respect to Platinum Gear

    INTRODUCTION

    As a companion guide to my Platinum Spending Guide, here is how platinum weapons and armor grow with level.

    For those of you who faint at the sight of charts and graphs, look at my comments for a summary.

    For those of you who love this stuff, note that SLOPE = Increase in Armor or Damage per level.

    Armor (w/o Back Armor until Lv 20)
    Code:
    ARMOR
    LEVEL	OP	CM	EN
    2	15	25	19
    5	40	68	52
    10	84	136	104
    15	124	204	156
    20	190	320	240
    25	232	386	290
    Name:  Armor.png

    COMMENT: The line isn't linear because platinum backpacks do not show up until level 20.

    Armor (/w Back Armor)
    Code:
    ARMOR
    LEVEL	OP	CM	EN
    2	17	29	22
    5	45	80	60
    10	95	160	120
    15	140	240	180
    20	190	320	240
    25	232	386	290

    SLOPE	9.42	15.65	11.74

    COMMENT: Adding a "phantom" back armor equivalent to helmet armor to the chart linearizes the armor growth rate.

    Dual Pistols
    Speed = 0.5
    Class = Operative
    Code:
    DAMAGE
    LEVEL	MIN	MAX	AVG	DPS
    2	3	11	7.00	14.00
    15	14	30	22.00	44.00
    20	18	37	27.50	55.00
    25	22	46	34.00	68.00

    SLOPE	0.83	1.50	1.16	2.33
    Name:  Dual_Pistols.PNG
Views: 448
Size:  14.4 KB

    COMMENT: Dual Pistols offer the highest DPS increase.

    Heavy Weapons
    Speed = 0.9
    Class = Commando
    Code:
    DAMAGE
    LEVEL	MIN	MAX	AVG	DPS
    5	6	20	13.00	14.44
    10	9	23	16.00	17.78
    20	18	40	29.00	32.22
    25	22	48	35.00	38.89

    SLOPE	0.82	1.46	1.14	1.27
    Name:  Heavy_Weapons.PNG
Views: 836
Size:  14.4 KB

    COMMENT: Heavy Weapons have a small-area AOE effect.

    Hand Blasters
    Speed = 0.6
    Class = Engineer
    Code:
    DAMAGE
    LEVEL	MIN	MAX	AVG	DPS
    5	6	15	10.50	17.50
    15	15	33	24.00	40.00
    20	19	41	30.00	50.00
    25	23	50	36.50	60.83

    SLOPE	0.85	1.74	1.30	2.16
    Name:  Hand_Blasters.PNG
Views: 847
Size:  14.2 KB

    COMMENT: Hand Blasters offer the best growth overall for class specific weapons, but they lack the DPS of the Dual Pistols. Non-class weapons like the rifle or heavy pistol offer better MIN/MAX/AVG damage though.

    Light Pistols
    Speed = 0.6
    Class = All
    Code:
    DAMAGE
    LEVEL	MIN	MAX	AVG	DPS
    2	3	7	5.00	8.33
    15	14	29	21.50	35.83
    25	22	45	33.50	55.83

    SLOPE	0.83	1.65	1.24	2.07
    Name:  Light_Pistols.PNG
Views: 497
Size:  14.5 KB

    COMMENT: There's no reason to use these at the moment.

    Heavy Pistols
    Speed = 0.7
    Class = All
    Code:
    DAMAGE
    LEVEL	MIN	MAX	AVG	DPS
    10	10	25	17.50	25.00
    20	21	45	33.00	47.14
    25	25	54	39.50	56.43

    SLOPE	1.01	1.94	1.48	2.11
    Name:  Heavy_Pistols.PNG
Views: 681
Size:  13.6 KB

    COMMENT: These are the next best things to rifles.

    Rifles
    Speed = 0.8
    Class = All
    Code:
    DAMAGE
    LEVEL	MIN	MAX	AVG	DPS
    5	7	18	12.50	15.63
    20	23	50	36.50	45.63
    25	29	62	45.50	56.88

    SLOPE	1.09	2.18	1.64	2.05
    Name:  rifles.png
Views: 524
Size:  13.9 KB

    COMMENT: Rifles offer the best min/max/avg damage and are good choices for people who wish to maximize their skill damage.

    Interesting work there.

    It means that our armor's increase in effectiveness relative to enemy firepower declines as you go up, which is expected.

    This looks like some very usefull information. I will go home tonight (hopefully) and do some number crunching as well.

    If this is true (and has a lasting respectiveness), it will greatly help others plan out there builds for expansions that haven't even come out
