The object of it is basically to never give up, because eventually you will get it. You can work for hours, enduring exhaustion and pain, but if and when you decide to give up, whatever you were working for is always going to be in arm's reach. I wouldnt be surprised if STS uses average km3 farming as a basis for drops like these. If a lock costs 10k (for simplicity), you'd need 1,000 locks to equate to 10m. At an average of 12 locks per hour farming, you'd need to spend roughly 20 hours in km3 to make 10m.
Following that logic, I wouldn't be surprised if the chest would drop at an average rate of 10-15 hours, leaving a margin for chance at looting in 5 hours, or 15 hours depending on your luck.

different to the digging process, you make nothing like a progress in farming arc chest. you might get nothing even if you farm days after days.
best thing to do now probably is to buy cheap from lucky one timer, and top up the price.

imo, the game has become too serious that you need to think how to do good business, not recommended for people who is looking for holiday/time off from real life. and it is worsened by many talk about "maintaining rarity" and "effort"

I think you're missing the domino effect, if they "make it rain" these items will become worthless which will affect people's farming pattern. By maintaining a certain "rarity" it at least allows people to strike it "rich" with some "luck". Sometimes that "rarity" is the deciding factor if it's "worth" farming or not.

I'm a firmed believer that my AL luck is horrific therefore I stay away from such endeavors. There are a slew of other things to farm for such as northal vanities, lockeds, etc,...
