Cancelling a Jewel Upgrade Deletes Awakening

I had awaked my gun and gotten some stats i was fairly happy with, and then put a jewel in the gun to upgrade. I cancelled the upgrade after a few hours and found that my gun had not been awakened.

Is this a bug or a feature of awakening?

Either way I would like my stats to be returned to what they were or a refund of the awakening gems. If this is feature we should have been informed beforehand.

And yes I have emailed support, just putting this out there as a warning for others to not cancel upgrades on awakened items, or maybe even upgrade at all.

Update: Nevermind, somehow my awakened stats came back.
