Drop Rates: farming as a group vs farming solo?

Hey all,

I've always wondered why some people prefer to farm solo, and leave/kick other players out for joining them. Lately I've read a few threads stating something like this.

"Say the drop rate for ARZAC is 0.01%, if you were farming with 4 other people then your drop rate would be 0.01/5 because there are 5 people in your party."

Does anyone know if this is true? I thought that the drop rates were individual, in that if the "ARZAC" drop rate was 0.01%, everyone would have that 0.01% chance regardless of how many people were in the party.

Those people are stupid.
There's a few types of gamblers fallacy & they are misperceptions. When you beat a boss you get a roll of the dice, if there are others in your group they also get to roll their own dice so to speak. What they're telling you is that there is one roll of a die for everyone and that the more people there are the higher the numbers go on the dice making your chance smaller.
Your last sentence is correct, and people that tell you wacky theories are the reason Vegas casinos make money, unless they're run by Trump, while people go home poor.

I havent noticed any difference in drop rate differences between solo vrs grouped. Although you could make the argument that grouped is better since you can usually clear more dungeons faster and have more overall drop opportunities.

gamers so superstitious when it comes to looting

but actually if u solo the boss but have a L17 rhino use the unlock access elixir you will get a guaranteed elite every 10 boss kills
