Well, then we will have to play together more often, and you will see me rush right into the middle of Nuri mobs with an Autobow and not eat it very often, especially if there is a good mage spamming Lightning right after I hit thorn wall, which follows the path you walk...I'll rush in, run a small circle with Thorn Wall rooting more than one mob, then Cruel Blast. Works like a champ

Valid point about Autobow being single target (except for Blast Shot), but so is the Dagger...and if at least one mob (or more if I happen to Blast Shot from a distance to soften mobs up) is dead/weak by Autobow hits by the time the party gets to a group, that is one less to really worry about, right? Many used the Death Shotgun set in the Sewers early on, on the way to 56, for the same reason...huge range.

Everyone has to be careful in Haunted Symphony, because of all the Gravestoned....doesn't matter if you have 110 armor or 170 armor. Or elixirs.

But yes, you are right about the team skill being the key. I will switch to Dagger all the time if it is a PUG and going slowly. I'm not knocking the Dagger set, I love it as well, but it has weakenesses (lower range and skill damage and base damage, although the high speed makes up for the lower base damage) just like the Autobow set does (lower armor, slower weapon speed, less regen).

I guess it all comes down to personal preference and party skill, both are excellent sets. Both sets with the Vanity Set, if one has one with its +5 dodge, +50 health and +10 armor, make them even better.

Personally, I'd go with a recurve or obiedience set to rush through the mobs of the levels then use this dagger setup for the bosses. Bleed procs + stack and if you're running with mages, + nightmare armor debuff + break armor.... That dps can almost become realistic if the right mega combos get pulled off.
Expert pvp builder and tester, horrible execution XD

Kinda offtopic but it was enjoyable to run today with u moog .

Well yeah I see your point in there. and I'm not trying to knock bow set down either but I feel like I need to stand up for dagger set a bit since I'm nowadays the "official dagger pro" .

All in all it's all about preferences and I prefer dagger set while some prefer bow set. Both sets have their pros and cons (like you listed 'em moog) and we all can agree that they both are great .

yea. some items do create a good poor man set. however , 110 armour and upfront with boss seemed a bit paper like.

Yup with 600 dps u ger the boss' aggro and with 110 armor death is certain.

There are going to be GREAT changes with the whole guide when Fang comes out. We still don't know if there is going to be a dagger set but the guide will get major modifications no matter the outcome. If there is a dagger set - just an enemy update. If no dagger set... Well then this thread looses a great amount of it's credibility and it becomes useful only for those who go through Nuri.

In practice, daggers are not nearly as powerful as they appear on paper.

Damage sustained by enemy = damage per hit - enemy armor

Daggers will be moderately effective for lower armor mobs, particularly now in Fang where they can dodge (so a high hit is critical), but against bosses that have high armor, damage per hit is much more important. Furthermore, daggers also suffer from low skill damage because they don't offer much damage per hit. I recommend not using daggers against bosses or against mobs in Nuri where they have their powerful one hit procs.

A simple "nice guide" would have sufficed here... If your so confident in your opinion, go make your own thread so I can contradict your idea. Ninja, great thread (:

If you would like a breakdown of game mechanics, here:

    http://www.spacetimestudios.com/show...DPS-Crits-etc.

It will explain why effective damage is more important than DPS.

Oh well the new dagger set actually has better damage compared to the one in Nuri's so it still isn't the high dmg wep but it sure is a lot stronger.

Well for high armor... We Avians have Break Armor and Shattering Scream and for the high dodge of the enemies we still have Focus.

I used to personally have the lvl 65 crafted dagger set but since I changed my build to warbird I now have lvl 65 Orlok one handed set. Dagger does a way bigger amount of damage to single enemies than the Orlok set because of it's monstruous speed and now a decent damage. Orlok sword's speed is 1.3 and Sanguine daggers speed is 0.4. So it hits the enemy three times while Orlok sword hits one time. Daggers damage is about 60 less than Orlok's so the damage dealt to enemies are multiple with dagger than it would be with sword. Daggers are now more effective than earlier.

I used to play every single map in Nuri's with that dagger and I got to admit that it wasn't easy to learn to play effective there but after time it is possible to "master the technique". It's about learning to know the situations.

I wouldn't even try to compare daggers to bows. Dagger sets are the most offensive MELEE sets there are available now. High dps with decent damage compared to lowest melee armor. It's still only about preferences.

    Ty for constructive feedback!
