Heal helps more, in the case of mausoleum and graveyard. You just need to figure out what weapon you and your team should use. For mages you need flame forged staff for mobs and dragon hunter staff for boss. While you use heal regularly it saves team from dieing situation spamming pots is not easy while you stun etc. It is your choice if you want to use or not, IMO heal is useful for safe running

I'd rather run with a mage without heal but clock for crowd control. thats a lot safer than a heal lol.

Heal is kinda useful, the heal regen from heal is really good for saving pots.
I wouldn't use heal my self but if someone said to be use heal I would say buy pots because pots are cheap and they help you with hp and mana.

To be frank, nothing says noob to me more than that swaying bunch of flowers from heal mastery popping up in Graveyard/Mausoleum just when stun-stun-stundammit! is crucial. Also, when I see a green confetti shower in the mobs I keep thinking it's the enemy mage and rather than be grateful I'd be annoyed because this mage, who'd be better off something more useful like clocking whole batches of nasties, is distracting me from keeping an eye out for the priority targets. I wonder why these mages don't feel insulted by people having to resort to using Slink or Breeze or Vlad or Dragon Hunter daggers (despite the huge loss of damage) to get some semblance of control on the mobs, which should have been a mage job.

Part of it may have been ignorance. I've met capped mages who were really surprised when I told them to never use Scorn AA. In Somberholt. While doing big pull. So maybe these healing mages are unaware of the fact that heal just put a big blinking arrow in their direction saying "HIT ME!" plus they will still have to pot anyway while it's on cooldown so what's the point with the waste of mana
    .
Part of it may have been neglect. Some guilds may put a lot of emphasis on stats, pets and gear, they fail to warn their mages to quit the Florence Nightingale act in pve.

And yet another part of it may have been outright stubbornness. I don't know how many mages I've helped respec for pve who asked : "What? No heal?" simply because they're so used to having it as a crutch since the time they were in diapers.

I don't know the ratio for each of these explanation but yes these are annoying (about as annoying as your poor-stat rogue who only uses weapon hit and the warriors who stand back doing the "After you, ma'am" act when it comes to pulling mobs).

I see many opinions about it but perfect answer is:
Mages just see what build are using graveyard mages ( heal curse ice ) and how they wiping all players in not even one second so they're thinking it " wow pro build!" * grabbing respec scroll *
Maybe they think since it worth for players should work in back way too @.@

Look, we've had discussions about this before, and it leads nowhere. If you feel like raging at the healing mages, just look back at those threads (they have hundreds of replies!), and let players play however they want; you don't have to pt with them, and if you're in a pug, well... You're in a pug

I disagree with the word noob in this thread. Every player we encounter can't be as we wish them to be. Many young players are starting this game on difficult content. I give them credit for continuing to play.

I made the thread because I wanted to understand why they use heal on those maps,I am not raging or anything I just want to simply understand the reason of using a skill that from my point of view bring no support to a reasonable experienced party .

That's it, I'm just intrigued with the amount of mages using heal on hard elites and couldn't figure out a reason by myself.

Reason which I still didn't find here .

Does it matter really? As long as they feel comfortable with heal, let them use it. You don't need an explanation for everything. Sometimes we think too much about everything, just let some of us enjoy the game as it is, and not get called a noob for prefering something that you don't! ! (Not to thread creater, but to all ignorant people that think that there's only 1 way to play the game).

if others want to use heal, that's up to them. but so too its my choice not to use heal, and i'd really appreciate not being called a noob because of it. sure, i can leave map, but then balance tokens take longer to get if you're constantly re-mapping to avoid ppl who won't use pots.

So please can someone give at least ONE SOLID reason for the use of heal there?
Absolutely right...anyone using shield heal or curse in PVE is a nub.

    Team A
MAGE: uses heal cool team full mana and health!!
curs be like @#&*@&# u all
all dies even tank 11k health

    Team B
MAGE:Uses fireball to stun mage or gale
    rogue kills mage
    team advance
    map done
So to any mages reading this who are unsure of there play style yet here are a few tip on grave skills that i use
    Dont use heal
Use clock, fireball(or gale ((with out speed addid and 10/10 mastry))),ice, shield
gear> flameforg staff (try to get gold loot one)
for pets o pref sns for healing pools
but if u dont have good pets to use there are
    *Nilbog
    *Toor
    *Magma <3!!!!!!!!!!!
I cycle those the most there
just keep grouping mobs and then basic atk away:3 rember to use fb to stun mages
forgot(if you are 2 mages and the other one is gun user use
flame forg (this staff rocks!)lig ice fb and shield just spam skill :3
(ps. stunning is a great why to stay alive and not admit your ankh less )
cya and good luck reading might have had "some" spelling errors

Its so fun to read the thread about mage using heal in pve every once a month.

Why you guys only blame mage?

    You guys want reason huh

    1. Its just a game play for fun. Fastest run doesn't mean its fun.

    2. It takes time to learn about the class and skills. Mage or shaman is a class who are specialised in healing traits. Unfortuantely in AL using heal in pve categorised mage as a noob. Try to tell them how skill works not call them noob.

    3. There are rogues who save up their mana by using basic attack . hard to earn gold lol. Warriors hiding behind mage and rogue using same tactics save mana. Ask mage to refill their mana. Lol. It makes me laugh when I see any rogue warrior or rogue ask for mana. Thank you for making me laugh. Its a pug run so bear with it and have some fun.

I hope OP found some reasons why there are still mages who uses heal on pve. When there are rogue and warrior players asking for mana , there will always be mage with heal in pve.

And running few pug runs and saying 99% mages using heal is bs.

Thank you rogues for using sss and heal in pve.

I fairly often use heal on graveyard when doing pugs because it saves me money. The map is easy and no harm in using heal. That said, I don’t use it to heal the team but just to replenish my mana and health when needed.

I don’t think that I slow party in any way because if I don’t have heal I use shield. So, damage output is same. I don’t like 4 attack skills setup. I tried it and it just doesn’t feel comfortable.
Furthermore, I often run graveyard with lepre on. The reason is same. Map is easy, so why not pick up some occasionally lock or legendary equipment. If the pug is weak, then I switch to full strength setup and use some strong pet (‘cause graveyard also serves me for leveling pets).

In conclusion, I don’t care for healing team. I use skill primarily to save money when doing pug runs. Doing so, I don’t harm team in any way (cause I would use shield instead, not 4th attack).
All said is valid for pug runs only. When I run with friends or guildes it is not the case.

I hope this gives you that one solid reason. In my case it is money saver on easy map in pug environment when I run with people of different skill/experience level and I can’t expect them to play the way I think they should.

I recommend you the same. Don’t make threads trying to change the world to suit your pro needs. If it bothers you, don’t run in pugs and “problem” is solved.
We reached the bottom of the crises but don't worry - we are still digging.
