.4 would be to figure out 40% of the damage figure, not to reduce 40% from it. 330 is the correct number though, so he probably just made an error typing and not calculating.

got lazy and didnt want to type 550 x .4 = 220 550 - 222 = 330
never thought about the .6 ;-;
