A release time would really help us out with the amount of people in town asking if the event has started yet. And the server will reset if event is starting. So if you are online you will know what it is about to begin.

A release time might also bog down the whole system. Just think, everyone knows the exact time to log in and flood the area. That seems counterproductive in a way. Then a lot of people wouldn't even make it into the same instance to grab the item because of the amount of people there. This way, there's more of a chance for everyone to get one if the area isn't full of people at xx:xx time. Of course though, this is just in theory.
