Burning barrels

For some reason on the swamp map there is a mission in which I an to burn 15 barrels filled with alcohol. I can't target the barrels not can I hit them with the torch to get then to burn. I tried having someone else do it for me while I was standing in view of the barrels, but that did not work either. I also tried reloading the entire game and still nothing. Any other suggestions, or is there a patch out for this.....anyone else having this problem.

I'm pretty sure you just tap the barrels?
