Comprehensive Level 35 Gear Comparison

Decided to help with gear selection for all the ops out there... I'll start by listing the stats with full custom blade set and compare it to regular blade set, green shipyard set, and custom chroma set. All stats are using the same custom blade fin dual pistols and epic condor eye damage implant.

Summary

The Custom BladeTech set is the best, but barely! Compared to the level 30 custom set, your 100k recipe cost plus items and crafting mats only gets you 6 hit, 25 health, and 54 armor.

Custom ChromaWeave set comes in second with identical damage, 25 less health, 54 less armor, and 6 less hit. You essentially get a 16.5% armor boost, a 5.9% health boost, and a 5.9% hit boost. Your hit is over 100 either way.

Plain old Green Shipyard set comes in third. Compared to the number two option you lose 8 hit, 11 crit, 1 dmg, and 1DPS. You gain 35 dex, 35 int, 1 dodge, 19 health, 49 mana, and 2 armor.

Last and definitely least is the regular level 35 "epic" BladeTech set. Compared to the cheap green items in third place, you lose 35 dex, 35 int, 1 dodge, 44 health, 74 mana, 4 dmg, and 9 DPS. You gain 9 hit, 9 crit, and 52 armor.

This means that the new higher level cap "epic" set is actually a downgrade from the cheaper custom set five levels lower. It's also a downgrade to the green set you get from trash mobs. You end up with 11.1% more health, 21.9% more mana, and 5.7% more dps by using trash gear.

I just don't understand why STS would do this. The way dex and int are scaling with common items are making them more powerful than the expensive "epic" items you need to farm bosses for.

Please comment if you want STS to actually look at these numbers and fix this issue. At the current scaling pace, common items will be the best gear, even over custom, with the next cap raise!

numbers perfect ! dont need fixing lol... its not easy for everyone to get 100000 credits, so using greens or yellows shudnt put you at much of a disadvantage in the game be happy that you got the particle fx... and im gonna stop saying the same thing in all such threads....

Got ya... So you believe hard work shouldn't be rewarded and the lazy people should just be given everything without having to work for it... Tell ya what... after Obama loses the election, you should shoot for the 2016 democratic nomination, because that is the most liberal thought process that embodies everything fiscally wrong with the united states and is the reason half the unemployed people are unemployed. God forbid you have to work for success... You just want the devs to give you everything since laziness creates a sense of entitlement, huh?

Way to take a constructive analytical helpful examination of gear statistics with a valid argument for a flaw that goes against the most basic gear assumption in every mmo ever (which is there for a good reason at that) and use it as an excuse to whine about how it's too hard to work for the best gear and it should just be given to you.... Crit isn't as important as base damage though, and yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Ops have crit on demand in the form of amplify and precision anyway. Not to mention, crit seems off anyway. Buffed I have over 100 crit with halloween bonus, yet not every hit is a crit...

The biggest problem in my opinion is that green is better than purple. Take custom completely out for a second...there is no reason trash mob gear should be better than boss only epic gear.

I'm not saying only boost custom, I'm fine with it being only slightly better than non custom, though the proportionate difference in stats with level 30 sets is more appropriate, especially with the cost. But the base epic set that doesn't take 100k that people can work for by farming, should be improved or common gear downgraded.

The beggers, farmers, scammers, resellers and auction house price fixers have a far better chance of earning the best gear in the game than those who just run or craft drops only

I earned mine by farming... So you would rather whine and ask for socialism than work for something? Not sure how old you are or what you do, but if you apply that same outlook to real life, you'll never achieve much!

Yeah the first people with the best gear in the game get it because of gear pooling, which is great and beats your whole "earn it" approach. I can spend time on ucs reselling mats and earn a bit of cred too, but this doesnt feel like a fun thing to do in a virtual world, or really hard work. woik hard at killing mobs lol. I manage about fifteen hours on an average day, got four alts levelling at SY, one half way to 36 and I havent been able to earn enough for one custom set, despite some dude giving me like 20000, and even if I had the cred I wudnt buy the custom sets for exactly these reasons, id rather build around the green set for the engie at 30 and work hard at that, or work hard at building a good build around the plat set, or work hard at earning real world money and blow it all up in a fun game where the plat set gives you some benefit, got where im coming from? Id rather not spend time in the game focusing on earning credits as that spoils the fun, and isnt really hard work, its dead easy lol, just dont wanna spend time doing that... if anything the prohibitive costs forces people to come together and share stuff, which is another good point for things to stay just the way they are

Wow... Play fifteen hours a day and can't afford 120k... Wow... I play about ten hours a week and didn't pool a thing... Farm, sell everything I'm not going to use while undercutting to sell quickly, and farm more.

Fifteen hours a day just getting credits from kills would cover it... You are either a troll, or a liar... And I am quite obviously a republican, which means I actually make good money in real life...

Anyways, Nice guide. I'm debating wether I should buy a full Blade suit if the difference between the custom set and blade is so small.

I don't have full custom but based on these numbers, other than full custom set bonus, a combination of set pieces would yield a better second place option for the less indulgent.

Does anyone have the numbers for full Shop Blade? Does it come with a bonus? I would hop so since its 30!

and back to my comment... im comming from pl, there lvl 55 and 51 pink and the only different is 10 armor and 10 dmg.
and that not stop ppl from buying lvl 55 gear, why? cos We have something called a jealous =)
The bottom line even if the middle of the battle does not really pay attention to that,
But after you get the base you stand next to each other and you see coming out of it lightning and flames and he just looks better than you
You must ask yourself the question "How much is cost to be like him"
And how much it costs to be the most powerful man in the game That no one wants to be a moderate level, and look at the other and see that he was incompetent to get the money to be like him

That is what drives people to spend another 100K for custom set
spend another 500 or 250 plat for buying pet

By the way, and I have not talked yet about what people bought at 100K EACH EPIC straight after the update,knowing the prices will be half next week

BTW this is why people are waiting 20 hours outside shops on the launch of the iPhone, you look at the screen on the news and say "If you go two more days they do not have to wait in line at all!"

Hmm lebbe this is not important, did I mention I spend about 6k on stims everyday>? I have 20 auction slots, and I manage to sell yellows for between 200-400 apart from the other stuff I get, its still not enough haha, but that doesnt matter lol, anyway, this was not in my defence, there are players in the game who refuse to take part in the selling, I dont know why, prolly because they dont have auction slots and have to resort to hawking on ucs, these guys will sell custom recipes from the inventory, and seen em walking around in yellows even at level 26-29. these players dont hoard credits, but spend time killing, and these players should not play with a major handicap compared to those who take the trouble to do all this. I used to be just like this till I got myself premium chars and they showed up with auction slots.

Its not like buying your way through the game doesnt help a ton, as 10 auction slots and the 100 stims at the start do wonders for your bank and ratio.

Im farming 1-3 getting plenty of purps it doesnt matter Im not going to buy the custom purp set because I have the plat set lol and im going to use that at every level no matter how much it sucks

First of all why are you buying so many steampacks? u need to run with eng...
im using a lot too when is no eng around. but i done run a lot that way cos
The second thing I'm sure ure not in guild... 6K steampacks can only spend if ull buy 100 steam for 1500 c
in guild u can buy it 100 steam for 750. and save 3K in a day
the third thing is ure mistake to farm 1-3 when lvl 5 is the "real" epic u can sell for 25K-40K now, thats kinda too late to be rich but It will put you on your feet for a while
if u knew that 2 weeks ago u could sell it 60K-100K EACH that kinda been rich
well... start farming lvl 5 WITH eng and talk to me next week... im sure ull have 100K at list
and if ure not lvl 35 sell everything! cos when ull reach lvl 35, u can buy same gear chaeper,

hmm yeah I liked the improved drop rates, seems a lot lot more feasible to get the items now, von uber game me custom plasma head recipe lol, thats level 2 anyway the discussion is getting majorly sidetracked, whats important is that the difference between the gear should not be much more than it already is, those who earn the custom set still get to max a few stats and get visual fx, thats enough of a lead over those who use purps or greens

Everyone is so focused on custom.... Biggest issue is 35 purples are worse than 35 greens... That's a problem!

reggin, boots and arms is cheap cos they drop at lvl. 3 boss and every. 2 run.
thats why they sold like. 300
soon all prices line up to. 15k, ull see.. helm,back and vest.
cos ppl r farming to make money.
but ppl soon wont need it cos they have it already, buyer r running off and prices will be cheap.
the only price that hold wil be recipe...
recipe is like diamonds, they wont changing theier price so extream
