Just to clarify it, the elixir is ONLY TO INCREASE the chance of looting Heroic Krampus and the Weapons? If so, we can run the brooding grounds without elixir and still have a chance to loot anything that can be looted there right?

You can't loot artifact if you don't use elixer
But you can loot green alor without lixir all the shadow lixir does is increases the drop rate by 2.5x

Thats the description of the elixir both in game and on the winter event guide thread.. it doesnt say anything about artifact... it's still not clear if the elixir is needed to loot the items or only to increase the chance of looting them.. might need help from a developer..
