    Episode 3: Final Days
    Chapter 1: Hero of Rushia

My memory began to recover slowly as the interrogator kept talking. Was he helping me? I don't know.
Interrogator: “In December 220, you were in Camp D.A for a month. What happened before the riot had started?”
Angela: “I was with two friends. Mikhailov and Anderson.”
Interrogator: “Mikhailov was the one of the commanders of the Crimson Army during the Alterran Civil War, while Private Andropov was known for receiving the Legend of Alterra.”
    Angela: “Yeah, I know that.”
Interrogator: “In the camp, there was something that made your mind crazy to assassinate the Elf Queen.”
Angela: “I can't remember what they did to me.”
Interrogator: “Think, Angela! What did they do to you?”
Angela: “There's one thing I remember. Mikhailov told me about his final days fighting in the Crimson Army.”

    Camp D.A, Crypta
Today's the end of the Winter Solstice. The Alterrans in United Alterra are celebrating Christmas, while we prisoners of Crypta are forced to work until we wither and die. However, we’re not gonna die in the camps. Mikhailov and his soldiers have planned to start a riot once and for all. The uprising will start at the first day of the new year, they said. We were sleeping inside a large room that was once a part of Silknight’s palace. The doors were locked and we were all mixed with other prisoners, but at least the room was silent. Mikhailov and I were in a conversation while Andropov slept.
Mikhailov: “Angela, I think it is time to tell you about my life before the rise of Rushia.”
Mikhailov’s English accent was not bad, despite the UUSR ordering citizens of Dark Forest to speak Russian.
Mikhailov: “I knew your parents very well. When they became couples in the university of Balefort, I became friends with them. Most times, I would tease and make jokes on them. Even if they did not like them, they would still like me.”
It turns out he was once witty, before the war erased his old personality.
Mikhailov: “Your parents sent letters of me while they worked in the Alterran Holy Palace for the Elf Queen.”
I remember when my parents told me they have a better job when I was little. That's how we have to stay with our aunt.
Mikhailov: “Your mother was a maid and your father was an Elf Guard. After Silknight’s filthy beasts raided the capital, they sent you and your sister back to Rushia.”
Angela: “Mikhailov, I know that. But what happened to my parents during the war?”
Mikhailov: “Your parents were both drafted into the black army. He became an infantryman, while she was a medic. After the war, they were both arrested and sentenced to death by the Socialist Ursan Agency. Our law states a traitor of the state shall not be given mercy. Bog, I never liked them.”
Angela: “Why did you and Andropov come here?”
Mikhailov: *smiles* “Ah! Just about time. After the humans left Alterra, Dragunov knew that the Orb of Destruction lies deep in Glumdoll Cemetery. He ordered me and my comrades to retrieve the orb so he can create a new powerful weapon.”
Angela: “But how did both of you became prisoners?”
Mikhailov: *sighs* “It was October 217. If Dragunov did not abandon us, none of this would have happened. I will now tell you about my final battle between the dark imperialist plague…”

    Glumdoll Cemetery, Crypta

Crypta was totally different from Rushia. There were slender trees that looked depressed and the ground looked perfect to bury the dead. While squatting on the black dirt in a middle of the night with a bunch of my comrades, my hands were still attached to my brown rifle. The same rifle I have been using it 3 years ago. After raising the red banner over the Alterran Holy Palace, this will be our final battle against the DA.
    Mikhailov: “Sergeant, it is time!”
Andropov: “Yes, Commander Mikhailov! We will kick these filthy animals out of the homeland once and for all!”
All of us got to our feet and quickly marched to a row of trucks. There were at least 10 of them, while there were at least a hundred of us. Instead of joining the rows of Crimsons, I followed Mikhailov. Staring at a hundred of armed Ursans, he quickly gave them a short speech.
Mikhailov: “Soldiers of the Crimson Army! Comrade Dragunov has ordered us to eliminate Silknight’s slaves hiding in their tunnels. Once all of them are already sent to hell, we will retrieve the Orb of Destruction!”
At this moment, I had the courage to speak. I couldn’t even find fear inside my head!
Andropov: “Comrades, do you know what will happen if I never joined to fight the Alterran fascists?”
UUSR Soldier: “Then Rushia would never exist!”
Andropov: “Exactly! We will not only fight for glory and honor, but for the Elf Queen and her people! URAH!”
    All UUSR Soldiers: “URAH!”
The roar of the soldiers were always similar when we fought in the Alterran capital. The war cry never gets old.
Mikhailov: “Come, comrades. We are moving out!”
He seemed impressed when he reacted to my small speech. As we hopped into the trucks, more soldiers came until we were crowded. The trucks started to grunt until it advanced while grumbling with other trucks.
A blanket of dark trees surrounded us, making us to blend in darkness. The only portion of light we are able to see are the lights in the front of the truck. We were all silent for a moment, until Mikhailov spoke up.
Mikhailov: “Sergeant Andropov, what was like in your first day of training?”
Andropov: “Stressful, commander. We were always being yelled at and we have to sleep for a maximum of 4 hours.”
Of course, your first day of military training is not welcoming. However, you will get used to it after a month or so.
Andropov: “Our basic training only lasted for 2 weeks, due to Silknight’s army invading the Motherland. After surviving this hell, now I am here.”

    Camp D.A, Crypta
Mikhailov: “We talked as we talked. The Hero of Rushia was one of my best soldiers in my group. He fought as if he was one of the warriors of Alterran legends. The price of our final battle against the black invaders was our military careers being eliminated…”
