You can't compare trade-able vanities to untradeable vanities - it is nowhere near the same.

When the richest players in the game spend 600m+ for a vanity, e.g the ice golem set, they know that they can literally resell it at any point due to the high demand, and most likely make a huge profit from it. Dumping 100-300 million into a set that you cannot resell, or do anything else with other than wear is an unlikely scenario for any player rich enough.

Why do you think rich people are rich? Because they don't spend a high % of their money in something that wont net them any profitable gains.

I personally have a lot of gold and I haven't even bought the 25m 24k gold set. It is such a waste and would rather giveaway 100m then buy an untradeable vanity.

P.s. It is highly exaggerated that people have over 500m+ gold. The actual number is a LOT less than you guys think in forum. Also stop trying to fix the economy/ inflation. It is annoying now. If there is an issue, STS will address and fix it accordingly.
