Goblin event altar runs

Seems a bit late but still wanna ask. if you open the portal to kill the mother goblin do you automatically team up with randoms or can only the ppl in the map join you?

Only ppl with you

And you have to be careful to not start the map once you go through the portal. Anyone entering once the map starts will end up in a different instance.
