Request to lock threads that are older then a year old?

I've been noticing the forum has had a lot of trolls lately and the day before sts will update the announcements thread, someone will go back and comment on a post that is like a year old, and effectively pranking some of us. Additionally in the general discussion threads as well as others people have lately been commenting on really old threads that have no prevelance today. I honestly feel that the really old threads should be locked and if there is need to actually talk about something relevant in one of the old threads, it is better to just quote the old thread or to start a new thread all together.

Except the threads in guide section; I think some of them needs to be open indefinitely

You can change it in the bottom left. Thread Display Options>Sort threads by>Thread Start Time

My idea: only people with old accounts can bump old threads. So they are bumped only by people who find them interesting to others instead of merchers who get 10 posts to open market thread to sell garbage nobody wants.

Cmon, quality of game content is much more important than spending time on forum updates that aren't really relevant. Time is finite guys (time intervals, that is).
