Many players got the gold tier without Platinum or exuberant amounts of playing time. My guildie phillipx unlocked gold tier only playing a couple hours a day.
That being said Gold tier was easily achieved. And asking for what so many put in work for, without putting in the same effort isn't really fair to those that put the time in.
