Use 5 plats to awaken ur weapon then use gold to full open all ur slots

It was confusing to me too until a friend explained it.

Like Nadine said, use 5 plat to awaken the first slot.
Then you do gold forge which has a random chance to open the next slot. So just keep doing gold forge until all available slots are unlocked.

It can take a while or you can get lucky. Good luck!
