As of your "people don't respond" issue its better to have a good guild with people willing to help, I'm in one of those guilds.. I can invite you if you want me to ;-) One of the biggest tips I can give is that just make it compulsory for yourself to complete (at least) ALL the dailies of Tindrin and Shuyal along with 'light the path' quest of nordr.
