Default Mage's Ultimate Skill Guide to Arcane Legends

So I decided to make some skill ideas for those who are new and not sure what to pursue

First, You can respec your skills anytime with a respec roll.

    Method for Obtaining:

    1. Directly Purchased from the Store for 25 plat [Not Recommended]
    2. Navigate to Auction --> press chest --> press search box and type ---> "silver runner" or "gold runner" ---> open the purchased chest by navigating to inventory within chest section. You will get it randomly from these two chests. [Recommended]
    3. Weekly Events where it is dropped randomly when a boss is killed in a map. [LImited Time]

You should put all your Attribute points in "INT/Intelligence".

    Offensive Build (Single Target/Burst Damage)
    Skills:
    1. Fire(Upgrade Slot 1,2,3),
    2. Lightning( Upgrade Slot1,2,3,4)
    3. Ice( Upgrade Slot 1,3,4)
    4. Gale(Upgrade Slot 1).
    Mastery:
    1. Fire (10/10)
    2. Lightning (10/10)
    3. Gale (10/10)
    Passive:

All passives except speed. Priority: Durable>Knowledge>Damage>Might>Agility>Crit

You will notice that this build does not require you to charge any skill, hence your rotation should be based on skill cool down for optimal damage.

    Defensive Build (AOE/Sustained Damage)
    Skills:
    1. Shield(Dont Upgrade slot 2)
    2. Fire( Upgrade All slots )
    3. Time( All slots upgrade except 2 )
    4. Gale( All slots except 3)
    Mastery:
    1. Fire (10/10)
    2. Time (10/10)
    3. Gale (10/10)
    Passive:
    Durable>Knowledge>Damage>Might

All Skills must be charged, they add DoT and provide increased survivability.

    Support Build (Crowd Control)
    Skills:
    1. Shield( Upgrade Slot 1,2,4)
    2. Ice( All slots upgrade except last one)
    3. Time( Upgrade all slots except 2)
    4. Gale( All slots upgrade except 3)
    Mastery:
    1. Ice (10/10)
    2. Time (10/10)
    3. Gale (10/10)
    Passive:
    Durable>Knowledge>Damage>Might
All Skills must be charged for optimal crowd control and for applying dots.

    Note on LifeGiver:
It is ok to include LifeGiver skill in scenarios like low level farming/grinding/leveling, it is helpful for new players who don't like to spend gold on pots while leveling.
Feel free to use it in your end game rotations as well if you and your party understands Aggro, especially if your tanks understands how to hold aggro because LifeGiver applied HoT which increases the focus of the mob on caster on every tick. If your tank can generate more aggro than you then it doesn't matter (Idealy they should, but no one cares about %Taunt awakes in this game). TBH I personally didn't come across a scenario where I or my party would require this skill.
    Absolutely amazing skill for PvP.

    Note on Ultimates:
Energize for Deep Marsh, Infested Swamp and other maps where you like your party to do burst damage. (Always announce to your partylow-levelng it).
Meteor Strike for Mausoleum and low level grinding. (Only use it if your raw damage is around 3k+)

    Note on Gear:
All previous generation weapons are nerfed for mage, at present the best gear for endgame is:
    1) Mire 3/6 or 6/6 + Spirit Staff level 50. (OP)
    2) Tainted Set 3/3. (Pretty Good)
    3) Endless Set + Balance Staff + DS + Immo/Wildfire (Alright)

*Above builds are just guidelines, read the skills/upgrades/mastery descriptions to learn and tweak them according to your playstyle and gear.

    Additional Notes:

Int>Str>Armor>Damage is the stat priority for mage. Hence the best legendary gear type for mage is Brutality, especially when you are leveling.

The level 40 Advancement Pack gear is good till Level 45, after that you should slot level 46 brutality gear on all slots. Level at Nordr, Shuyal and Tindrin with dailies till you hit level 57. Upgrade your gear with level 57 Brutality gear (major upgrade), then you can do Cryo, Glint, Graveyard. Do the dailies from all these zones to hit level 61.

Once you hit level 61 upgrade to level 61 Dusk brutality gear and then start playing Nightmare till level 66, then go to Festerfang.

The optimal way to upgrade your legendary gear will be to update them every 5 levels, but if the gear has awakes for Int/Armor then you can carry them to 10 levels. Just compare the gear and stick to the stat priority.
