[Bug] Frost Bolt - Upgrade (Ice Wielder)

Skill Details: Charged Frost Bolt has a 20% chance of freezing and damaging enemies around your target.
Issue: It is not working. I tried the skill many times (charged) in different maps but it only freezes the target not the enemies around it.
The enemies around the target get dot and slow with or without taking the upgrade.

Where were you testing it? It's working just fine in my test, pack of 4 all frozen at once.

Just tried in Elite Southern Gates - bunch of bugs frozen at once. What's your exact frost bolt setup (upgrades and mastery)?

All Upgrades selected except last one (Arctic Shatter), no points on mastery.
I tried on Maus1 right now, I see the dot getting applied and enemies around the target getting slow with ice effect, but no successful freeze on a group yet.

Edit: Did you check in elite? Would that make a difference?

I just noticed that none of the upgrade says mobs should get slow, it only mentions dot + freeze, but in my case the target is freezing and the enemy around are getting slow with dot.

Can't repro with same upgrades you have either. I think something else you're using / doing is replacing the freeze with the slow. Does it still happen if you unequip your weapon and unsummon your pet?

I was using Nekro with Hero Magma HB slotted. For this test I unsummoned the pet and equipped only legendary gear.
I tried the skill on a group of mobs in Maus1 for like an hour today but I was not able to freeze them. I still see the same thing, target getting freeze (if they are small target, the warrior skeleton doesn't freeze) and the rest of the group having the dot applied and moving slower than normal.

The mobs aren't very slow but are only comparatively slower than normal. In your test do you see mobs running to you with dot applied and blue Ice effect?

@Thread: Can any other mage from community test this for me please, it will confirm if the issue is only at my end.

I see 5 of the small mobs with the ice effect on them, and not moving at all for 7 seconds. PM me your mage's character name, if I have time tomorrow I'll see if I can repro with a copy of him.

Its broken but its doing more than what it is suppose to do ; I tested it on another mage (level 64) and got same results, so its not only my account/character.

I dont mind if you leave it like that if its taking too much of your time, thank you for being so prompt, really appreciate it.

which of them u calling "warrior skeletons"?

1) these mobs can be stunned, slowed, rooted, banished by everything:


2) these cant be freezed by mage's ice (only breeze passive), cant be stunned by slink AA, cant be rooted by clock (dont even get slowed), cant be banished by immo staff/different AA(mm,samael)


btw is it bug? about 2nd type of mobs

I was talking about the 1st one. It wasn't working on them before in my case atlease.

You seem to have good knowledge about these mobs, I spent long time in maus today and I noticed things that I never before, can you clear my confusion and tell me:
1) If its normal for a mage mob in maus to cast life-giver skill.
2) If their Frost Bolt can freeze mobs. I think I saw friendly fire, a charmed effect (but I was in a ghost party with no pets and only legendary equipped).

Also, can you check if you can repro post #10. Thank you.

2) yes they freezing mobs (same as friendly fire by their bombs, or their razor)

taken only skill, without any upgrades, no use pet, used charged ice bolt: 3 of 4 mobs stunned on my ss
