A "proc" is a special effect on an item. It's an old gamer term that dates back to MUDs; before any actual graphical massive multiplayer games existed.Originally Posted by skeletonlord

Likewise, if you have a particle effect with items those can also be called procs.
It's likely he's referring to a particle effect, here, but I wanted him to clarify what the actual issue was.
