Vanities do not affect gameplay there’s absolutely no reason why they need to return. Take away the fact that ppl spent millions on them what’s the fun of having the same vanity as everyone else?
I get they want new players to have a chance at old items but there’s certain things that need to remain exclusive and once you reach a certain point you can get them.
Imagine buying something that you save up money for years like a car or a house then the next day the government decides to give everyone one for free. See the problem with that? Everyone was happy with the purple arlors but this is just insanity.

They shouldn’t have return it back,people spend millions on it,a person was ready to sell all his vanities for the green arlor set and many more people spend all their income on it...
Same happened with steel commando set looks like people should just avoid paying millions of gold for old vanities unless it is a Leaderboard vanities.
