Feedback/Review on 2018 Winter Event
Out of the 4 major seasonal events (Goblin, Ursoth, Halloween, Winter) the Winter event tends to be the weakest one out of the 4.
Something that everyone tends to bring up that is an issue with the event is the lack of incentive because the rewards are too underwhelming. Personally, I felt that the point requirements were over the top this year. 28k for plat tier is out of my reach for me, but thats because I would get bored and lazy.
I have an issue with all of the events in general, and that issue is that energy farming just isn't that fun and gets boring. Events just lack action and they need more action to keep us engaged. Goblin Event was pretty good at keeping us engaged because there would be portals to the goblin dimension appearing. These portals would be like mini event areas where you kill a few goblins to get some energy essences and a few other goodies. With that being said, what would resolve this is by expanding this portal idea to more events to keep them fun. This portal can:
1.Be an area where you kill a few event enemies and get a good amount of energy essences
2.Have a mini boss you just fight that has a low chance at giving some useful stuff like an energy kit
3.A free event run.
4. 1 and 2 combined (Pretty much a mini event run)
Another solution would be to make enemies, such as the Frost Fiend, more elusive, maybe tougher, and give rare loot other than just gold and event tokens.
Brood was more on the meh side and the hunter elixir was pretty useless. The Brood was just useful for getting energy essences and some points. The Brood seems like it should appear more often or have a wider array of other rare loot to provide as well (like have a chance to drop the ebon arcane weapons) other than just Krampus.
How do you guys feel about this event and what are your solutions to fixing current issues for future events?
