Taking a vote from the players might be a great idea when it comes to these type of tournaments, so that all the players have an equal / balanced gears. Just stating an idea according to what you have stated, "This will show who the best players are in the current state because that’s just how pvp is".

No way we can classify who the best players are if not given the same gears right?

But CURRENT state of pvp won't tell you who the BEST players are, because the gears are way too unbalanced for the new participants trying to participate in this tourney. If you want to claim who the BEST players are, usage of the same gear should be applied.

The meta in 2011 (SSC/WF) was far more balanced than the current meta in PvP at 26. Sure, 2011 PvP might be outdated, but anything that came after is a pale imitation of the balance we once had in this level bracket.

The current state of this tournament caters entirely towards the rich and is entirely in favour of a team with 2 rich mages. If you truly want to find the best PvPer then the only way to do that is make it SSC/WF gear. I can guarantee you anyone who even has a chance at winning this tournament will completely agree to making it SSC/WF gear. I daresay they would be elated to finally have an SSC tournament because there was never one that concluded in the past.

The current meta is not inclusive of all classes... SSC/WF would be. At the moment, i don't think there will even be a single bird or rhino that enters - there just wouldn't be a point. I would love a chance to use my onyx bird again.

Please consider what myself and other people have said about making it SSC/WF only, it is infinitely fairer and will attract a much larger audience than 16 teams.

It doesn't matter that it's outdated when the current meta is entirely unbalanced.
