2019 Lovecraft Valentine's Event | Hugthulu Returns!

You must feel it already. Some cosmic disruption intensifies as Valentine's day nears. Love is in the air, and if there's one thing Hugthulu can't stand......

Hugthulu and Hugthulu Prime have risen again and it's up to you to ensure that the spirit of love stays alive in Arlor.

This is an Energy/ Leaderboard event.

Energy Portals to Hugthulu's Realm are open in townes all across Arlor. Energy Essences drop from all dungeons across Arlor. You can also craft or purchase energy kits from other players. Excess Crafted Energy and Energy Essence will be removed after the event is over.

Store

In the Featured section of the store you can purchase:

Hugthulu Crates



This is the event crate that drops in the world. The store version will give you three pulls, possible rewards include:

• Arcane Fossil
• Arcane Shard
• Heroic Kissogatha's Egg
• Bunch of Set rarity armor and weapons

Notes:

• Endless Love armor sets (red) can be upgraded into Tainted Love armor sets (blue) using Hugthulu's Purple Rose which drops from Hugthulu Prime
• Endless Love is a 2/2 set bonus only
• Tainted love is a 3/3 Set bonus only
• Endless Love and Tainted Love Armor and Helmets have the same stats and only differ in the sets they accompany
• Stats awarded from set bonus will work in ALL areas of the game, including PvP

Endless Love Armor/Helmet come from:
- Hugthulian Crates (Locked and Unlocked)
- Dropped from Hugthulu

Tainted Love Weapons can be obtained from:
- Hugthulian Crates (Locked and Unlocked)
- Dropped from Hugthulu Prime

Tainted Love Armor/Helmet come from:
- Crafted using the Endless Love piece + Purple Rose dropped from Hugthulu Prime

Note about the Procs:
Across the 6 weapons there are 2 procs. You can use the crafting interface to switch the proc attached to your weapon

Proc 1:
On attacking an enemy, you have a chance to spawn a pickup. These pickups last for 5 seconds and can be grabbed by you or your allies. Pickups include:
Healing Pack: Restores 33% of your health
Mana Pack: Restores 55% of your mana
Damage Pack: Adds 20 damage for 5 seconds
Crit Pack: +10% Crit Chance for 5 seconds

If you're wearing the full Tainted Love Set, 2 additional packs can drop
Super Damage Pack: Adds 200 damage for 5 seconds
Super Crit Pack: +100% Crit Chance for 5 seconds


Proc 2:
On attacking an enemy you have a chance to spawn a detrimental pickup. These pickups last for 5 seconds and can only be grabbed by your enemies. Pickups include:
Poison Pack: Deals a moderate amount of armor ignoring damage to the enemy over time.
Damage Down Pack: The enemy only deals 50% damage for 5 seconds.
Armor Down Pack: The enemy only has 50% armor for 5 seconds.
Mana Burn Pack: Removes 20% of the enemies Mana

If you're wearing the full Tainted Love Set, 2 additional packs can drop
Super Poison Pack: Deals a TON of armor ignoring damage to the enemy. This will kill them if they don't heal. It might kill them even if they do heal. Basically don't pick this up, it hurts.
Super Stun Pack: Stuns the enemy for 3 seconds (follows all stun immunity rules in PvP)

Set Bonuses:
Endless Love (2/2): +200 health, +200 mana, +15 STR, +15 DEX, +15 INT, +100 armor.
+ If the pet Thog is summoned, he will receive a damage bonus buff!

Tainted Love (3/3): +400 health, +400 mana, +25 STR, +25 DEX, +25 INT, +5.5% Crit Chance, +30 damage, +250 armor, +6% Boss Damage.
+ If the pet Kissogatha is summoned, he will receive a damage bonus buff!

The Mighty Merkfin Mask

Now that's a grin anyone could love. This lovable Merkfin mask is only available in the store on Valentine's Day and the final day of the event. The rest of the time it can be found as a rare boss drop off of Hugthulu Prime.



Fleeting Love Farmer's Elixir



This elixir briefly increases rare item drop chances during the Lovecraft event, specifically:

Hugthulu Prime
- Drops 2 Hugthulian Crates
- Increases drop rate of Hauntlet, Dragkin Bones, Story Tokens, Revive Ankhs
- Increases drop chance of Gold Lovecraft Chest
- Increases drop chance of Tainted Love Set Weapons
- Increases drop chance of Hugthulu's Purple Rose
- Increases drop chance of Hugthulu's Heart Back Vanity
- Increases drop chance of Merkfin Helm Vanity

Hugthulu
- Increases drop chance of Gold Lovecraft Chest, adds chance at two Gold Lovecraft Chests
- Increases drop rate of Hauntlet, Dragkin Bones, Story Tokens, Revive Ankhs
- Increases drop chance of Endless Love Set Armors and Helms
- Adds chance to drop Hugthulian Crate

Crested Merkfin (rare miniboss)
- Increases drop chance of Hugthulian Crate

Merkfin (minibosses) (at least 2 per event zone in far corners)

Seek out and kill Hugthulus Minions that drop pink Candy Hearts that can be crafted into Lovecraft Tokens Kit.

Event Scoring and Tier Rewards

Killing Hugthulu gives you Tier Points. Climb through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Plat Tiers for awesome rewards! At Gold Tier and above, use a Love Letter (crafted from Parchment Paper and L-O-V-E candy letters) to summon Hugthulu Prime at his altar! Killing Hughtulu Prime gives you significantly more Tier points.



Note: Hugthulu Prime is a Level 71 Boss only. While his level will scale, his stats will be equivalent to Lvl 71 no matter what level you are.

This is a Leaderboard event. Rewards are as follows:

26th-50th place (for each class):

• 1 Magna and 1 Victus Rune
• Leaderboard Banner (stashable, not tradable)



11th-25th place (for each class):

• LB Banner (stashable, not tradable)
• 3 Magna and Victus Runes

Top 10 (for each class):

• "Heart-Breaker" Title (Gold)
• Precise Jewel for your class (Finesse, Fury, or Mind)
• LB Banner
• 6 Magna and Victus Runes



Additional Notes

- This event's Bane Item is called the Enthralled Talisman
- Keep an eye out for the “Merkfin” miniboss with special loot rewards
- Event NPC “Remmi Amor” has 3 quests to complete.
- There is a Special Hugthulu Prime quest granted once you reach Gold Tier
- There is a Crafting process for turning Endless Love Set into Tainted Love Set
- Thog and Kissogatha both double strike in the Lovecraft zone, and with the appropriate set (Endless Love for Thog, Tainted Love for Kissogatha) will deal that extra damage in all other zones, including PvP. If you have Kissogatha as the base pet, and as the happiness bonus and are in the Lovecraft Zone or are wearing the Tainted love set the Double Strike will apply. The same is true of Thog and the Endless Love Set
- Candy Letters of all types ONLY drop from the new event zone
- Love Letter can ONLY BE USED by Gold tier or higher players, but can be crafted and sold/traded by anyone

This two-week event will begin on Thursday, February 14th and run through Thursday, February 28.
