What are some tips for returning players?

I'm back! I recently started playing again with my best friend, and we've been talking on mic while playing and its been so fun. I love that the items stack now!! So excited to see that your crafting inventory wouldn't be so much of a chain as a new player/toon.

That said! It's been so fun to play again and run the maps, but I honestly have no idea how to play anymore. What sets are good to invest in? What should i save my gold up for now for later on in the game?

U only need to spend ur gold at lvl 46, 57 and 71 as a new player.

You can also shop somewhere in between if the maps feel a little hard.

Right now, tainted set lvl 71 is the best, however it's really costly especially for rogue. Events, as always, the best way to make gold. So until u have a decent sum of gold, stick to legendary.

Concentrate on doing daily xp quests when you start each day. Complete the quests and pop xp enhancers before turning in the quests to maximize your xp from them.

After completing your dailies, you can then do whatever you want.

As azedz said taint is the best and try investing on the taint set op build or clean pot if you wanna save up some money.
Spend some money on gold loot awakened
Gears and start farming esg or mausoleum or (only for level 71 players) Hydra bog.

W what you should invest depends of the amount of gold you are up to spend.
If you don't want spend much and see what is the deal rn, I suggest endless(66 and/or 71) w some dagger. Even leg daggers 71 they are decent. Also you can get the 71 ring and pendants for red coin, isn't hard to farm them. Or continue using speed set, is still the best. Gold loot is only a must if u need farm gold. And people still farm at the same maps ESG and Mauso. But deep Marsh gives a good gold too at bosses, if you up to do aps.

Welcome back!
First and foremost thing is level up as fast as you can and make sure to do daily quest everyday and once you hit level 71 start buying the stuff which the above players have mentioned.
Also try to run as many events as you can cuz these events will fetch you a good profit so you will have good amount of gold to buy high level gears.
Try to settle with Lower level legendary gears now once you get enough gold then only buy higher level gears like tainted set etc.
