So I was thinking that it would be a fun twist if you could switch between 1st and 3rd person like skyrim. Would this be too hard to implement?

I remember this being discussed before. At that time most thought it would be cool although probably not very playable, since you'll loose a lot of the overview of the 'battlefield'. Walls for example would get in the way of your view, while you can't see what's happening behind you.

Personally, I'd like to see this option but I don't think it would be very playable.
