mailboxes in the "Town Center"

I know there has been lots of talk about trading and auction houses. Pros and Cons of each.

I think Mailboxes in the Town Center would be an excellent way to send and receive gold and items, not only to other players but to your own alt characters as well.

Yes this is ideal for alt characters. Asking others to hold your items is risky.

I'm not so sure it's a good idea to let people trade items between characters... it would let lvl 25+ solo the lower levels to farm for a couple hours and voila; the level one character all of a sudden is set for life without having to earn it.

Not true, I've played a few that don't allow it, and just because most lemmings will jump off a cliff, doesn't make it a good idea.
