Is it bad to give gold?
I have a habbit of going into expedition camp on my main, hexcell, and since ive been getting so much gold from gold loot and such, i feel like its cool giving some, but i hear it could be bad? Considering a ton of the players exit out of the trade menu when i show 50k and confirm, i was wondering if its a bad thing to do this, since giving ur gold to spendsalot is pretty much the same thing xD.

Its a bad thing,because ppl abuse the good hearted players. Most of ppl who beg for gold got a main and gold too, they do it just to get some free gold. Imagine u and other 100 ppl give him 50k, he got free gold without farm and will keep doing it so u farm and he get gold. Also i had a bad experience about it, i gave 200k to a random guy who came to me crying about he got scammed 200k worth stuff, i just wanted help him out so i give the gold, after he just pmed me thanks noob lool what a idiot u give me free gold lol. I told him yes enjoy gold .. and ignored his tt, after that i didnt help again any random player but good friends only. Moral of the story dont help unkown ppl, prolly they doesent deserve, dont get sad about these player beg for gold, they r just leechs and also they dont need gold to live its just a game 😁.

I'm 100% more likely to give random gifts/gold to people running maps as these are probably legit players who almost always appreciate it.
Another way for me to gift with low risk of giving to rich AF beggar alts is shout that I'm selling XXX (usually 200-500k usefull for weaker players item) and then just give to whoever offers reasonable amount + other higher value items or gold if I think they're sincere and deserve the help.
My last and favourite is to go on a nab alt and reward anyone who's willing to help me for free thinking I'm nab.
Giving gold/items to beggars is like rewarding your dog for shatting on your carpet...

I dont give the gold to players who ask for it, i just randomly trade low level players or guildies and just give them 100k

I say its bad because I have learned a lot about people. If you give them gold they will not succeed and become better, they will spend the gold and ask for more or quit the game. If you teach people how to make gold then that will help them a ton because its like the saying: "You give a man a fish you feed him for a day, you teach him how to fish you feed him for a life time."
I have gave millions away to people and almost every person I have given gold to have quit or are still begging for more in towns. The people I have taught to make gold are now making millions upon millions.
Also yes, there are individuals out there who will call you noob, retarded, idiot, (Names I cant mention here), and other things just because you give them gold.\
Ps. You are not doing bad giving gold, its just increasing the beggar population.

No don't give gold to beggars. Play make your own gold. On occasion I will help a player with a map or two. But why give to a beggar that might never play again & is too lazy to go get it themselves.

give me some gold let's do a experiment and see if it's bad first hand I'll tell you how I feel after you give me gold and you tell me how you feel, when and where u wanna meet to try this social experiment
I agree with Idly who gives to people in maps etc. I sometimes give a bit to people in towns but prefer to give items or help with quests.
I remember one player in particular. He or she had all the usual poor gear on with pet Barney flying above. Level 17, this was a few years back before trading permit was implemented.
"Gold pliss to feed my pet. I'm new", the usual line or words to that effect. They had done everything to show how poor they were except for one thing. They were wearing the level 36 mastery banner. Why they did that I'll never know.
Then there are the ones who ask for eggs, so you give them wurmtongue or some other inexpensive egg to see them through..maybe a Dova or a Wrathjaw.
I have given quite a few of these all at once only to be met with a "pffftt..these are no good!"
It's a difficult one but all in all, I think a genuine new player would prefer your time, get to know them and then offer them stuff.
