XP was changed, pretty sure AFTER you quit before. Listen to what everyone else is trying to tell you: XP quests are the best, both dailies and main story line quests.
Quests are now affected by XP modifiers, such as elixirs, pets, equips. So do your quest but do not turn them in until you have bunch of them ready to be turned in. Then put on your XP modifiers (cheapest XP elixir is ones from Elite runners or the new free ones from watching the vides). Then turn in your quests.
Doing all quests can get you upwards of 60k xp a day.
After that, yes, you can see which zone you can comfortably kill in and get xp. Use what xp modifiers you can, while also comfortably completing the zone. You should have plenty of XP elixir time left, since turning in all the previous elixirs should take you less than 3 minutes.
