Tainted for mage is garbage in pve. I would suggest hex staff for mobs if you are low on gold, and dragon staff for bosses. Ds has been and still is one of mages best boss weapons. If gold isn’t an issue, then go new arcan staff or ebons.

I think Balance staff is good since it reflect damage,its so useful in maus especially for umbral mass,It does about 12k damage seconds so it will deal about 60k damage in 5 seconds.But i used this about 4-5 month ago,so i dont know is it changed now?
