It's because STS changed how google login works with AL

If it's not actually working in some form, let us know. We're aware it doesn't look nice, but we're limited in how we can do it to maintain backward compatibility with older android versions. You can always switch to using an email based account rather than google (nexus -> my account -> modify account) if it really annoys you.
