    Cool Range of different gun types.

    Hey there forumers! I was messing about on my twink a while ago and discovered different guns have different ranges. I know it might sound silly, maybe many of you already knew but tbh, I never bothered testing them out before and never really cared.
    But now with pvp out, this could mean a huge advantage over others.

    These guns were tested out in the 'Conflict Resolution' room, from the first intersection/ 'x' to the next. Which I found to be exactly 12m. I'm not 100% sure about the distance so maybe the mathematicians could figure it out .

    Hand Blasters-10m
    Dual pistols-10m
    Light pistols-10m
    Heavy Pistols-10m (nova blaster)
    Heavy cannon-12m (AOE dmg)
    Rifels(any class can use em!)-12m
    That gives a 2m advantage to rifle/heavy gun users during pvp. Use it! Kite away my friends.

    Yes, I know it may sound silly, and you probably already knew, but the majority of people I've asked did not know themselves, or they wanted to keep it a secret.

    Thank you for this! I was wondering what the ACTUAL ranges were for a long time. This relates to PL alot IMO, Xbows having the most range and all that.

    L15 Mage - Certificates. L12 Behr - Certificate. L15 Teamer Mage - Duuq

    Interesting finding! Thank you!

    The tricky part is anyone using 2-handed weapon loses huge armor bonus.. Only kiting-kings can use this .. Seems it's time to go practice))

    Atm, range weapons are usefull and killer in low lvl range pvp if u kite/skill well (op or com). The difference between pistol/shield in hp/dmg is rapidly eaten away by the diff of range autoshoot. Dual pistol high rate shoot crush riffle user if they cant maintain range.
    At cap lvl 40-41 its an other story. I find it harder to use it.

    it's...not really that useful imo. Range of OP bind/lurch/flame is 12m same with other engineer skills. so yea u have a rifle yay...all they have to do is bind you Amp, flame, lurch. "huge" armor bonus is the least of yur problems try less HP,dodge,mana and other things that i can't check right now because im working hard on hadly working in my job

    edit: i mean if u wanna use go on ahead i really don't care. it's yur death not mine.

    Everyone knows it would be alot harder to do, but a good kiter could make use of this info. Also, it might give engi's and edge since they can suppress you and then only deal with skills not the auto attack of a nova beating down on you. Excellent findings, Zalty. (Can I call you that? XD)

    then again we can bind/lurch(then suppress us done)/amp/flame them.

    i dont know much about mando so i cant really say anything about them

    At the max level, it's not as big of an advantage.

    When twinking in SL, it can make a huge difference.

    I always thought heavy cannon had long range but i thought i was just being silly. Now i know i am right

    Of course most skills are around 6- 12 meters, and yes there is an armor disadvantage at higher levels.
    I stated this mainly for twinking. Using a rifle instead of a pistol/shield oonly takes off about 30 dmg and a few HP points. (Lvl 15)
    Okay so they can use their skills, so can you . All the while, you're able to use your auto while they're not. That's about an additional 15-30 dmg per ssec depending on ur gun. And with pain, u deal even more.
    I'm not saying kiting will let you own others, oh noo, course if you rely all on kiting you'll probably be worse off. But if you get used to the range and use it with the right timing, who knows.

    Edit: I'm just putting it out there. If you want to use it, go ahead. If not, move along.
