I'm posting this here to respond to any concerns made on the this and the SL contest thread. I'm usually active here at work but I can't always be. Special thanks to Eb for responding so quickly when I couldn't.
The purpose of this contest was to have people sign up for for Google+ and have all entries submitted by the messenger feature. The prizes were scaled higher than anything I have seen for a screenshot contest to entice people so they would go through the signing up process and enter. I posted this contest after posting my G+ setup thread for the sole purpose of getting people interested in the community chat I started there. I wasn't doing that for me though, I already talk to half my guild daily on G+ messenger, and it's great. I did it to encourage people to take the time to join so they could see that too. I also had extra money, so contest was the best idea. If it came off like I had a motive, I did, but it wasn't a selfish one.
Regarding the age limit on G+, I was unaware it was 18+ and not 13+ like these forums *facepalm*. The intention was to include anyone on these forums in the G+ chat and contest, not exclude anyone. For those who are unable to get to G+ for any reason, I'll be hosting another contest on this thread with scaled down prizes so that everyone can participate. Since the contest was originally geared towards encouraging people to participate in G+, those prizes will remain the same. See below for details.
I posted that this was closed to IU for a couple reasons. All contributions came from IU guildies, and I will be judging it with this handful of contributors. It could easily be seen as favoritism if someone from IU wins. Almost half the guild is already on G+ and most of them are in the STS chat, so I thought it was more fair to exclude the whole guild from the competition and host something else just for them at another time. However, now I'm opening up the thread contest to them, so all IU is free to post on this thread to enter it.

RULES
- Only one entry, in either the SL or PL contest (not both) per person.
- No photoshopped/altered images.
- You can only submit a screenshot you took.
- Don't submit anything that would get you banned, the winning screenshot will be posted here.
- Judging begins at 12:00 am (GMT -5:00) on February 5th OR after there are 15 entries, whichever comes LAST.
- All entries must be posted through Google+ messenger. Send me a message and I will invite you to chat with all judges where you can submit your screenie.

The First 10 people to submit an entry will get 25k gold. Gold will only be handed out when the contest ends.

Hmmm.. I'll look into it, but I think 20 is a pretty random age restriction.

Edit: The current minimum age for Google+ is 18. Google has said they are working on safeguards for younger users before opening it up to them. I have not seen any timeframe mentioned as to when that may happen. I will discuss this with Lelouchx as I'm fairly sure he wasn't aware of this.

- STS chats will be open to the whole community so, just like on these forums, "Never reveal your personal informaton." If your last name is on the account, you won't be invited to chat or be able to submit an entry (click link above for details).

I would think above 18 years of age and you have the option to reveal yourself if you wish...

No.. G+ messenger is 18+ while in beta, will be 13+ once proper protection is embedded. Since he thought it was 13+ already, he made sure to put a stipulation in to protect the younger crowd. If you're 18+ and wish to have your last name on your acct, I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal.

Since Lelouchx wanted to include everyone though, not just 18+, he's coming up with a plan B. I am not sure what he's going to do, since this is his contest and I'm only here discussing it because I talked to him about it on G+ and I donated. It could be waiting till G+ is out of beta, or something else, he'll let everyone know tomorrow.

Well yes, our whole guild uses G+ messenger to organize runs, when to jump in game for cool happenings, officers have a seperate channel to post screenshots, etc.. I thought at first, meh, I will see them in game and on forums, no big, but when I finally got it I realized what I had been missing out on. It's personal, easy to use, easy to set phone notifications, and there's nothing like posting pics and having a laugh with 20 people in a dynamic social environment. There's even a video conference option.

As for "ramping up publicity", exactly, basically this whole contest was to get people on to G+, as I said, it's become vital to how we play the game, literally changes everything, and Lelo was hoping to get some more people on there to hang out with and see how much fun it is. G+ isnt for the contest, the contest is for G+. hope that helped

I will post when i can with more details. all i can say is that this contest was intended to include the whole community, and the large rewards for a simple screenshot contest was the motivation for people to take the time to register and set up. everyone i g+ with now that didn't want to go through the registration process probably spends more time chatting on there than i do. call it an ulterior motive if you will, i guess that's what it is. I was the creator of the STS chat group and it was my intention the ramp up publicity. i was under the impression that was understood from the original post, sorry it wasn't my intention to be sneaky. regarding people using their real names if they wish, i wanted to set up the g+ chat while doing all in my power to have the STS TOS followed, which is why i quoted and linked them through the thread on setting up g+, and put it in the original post here.

Please check back here tonight, i'll give more details on this contest then. Thanks
