Question regarding armor

So the max armor cap is 8215 and also it's 80% damage reduction equivalent as stated by devs before for a level 76 enemy. So guys if I have 8215 armor and then I use arc shoggoth will I get that 15% damage reduction? Or I'm already capped at damage reduction because of my armor being capped??

Damage Reduction from Armor v.s Damage Reduction from Pet Passive Ability/HB/AA and Elixirs are two different things. I use Arc Shog currently as HB. The 15% Damage Reduction from HB will apply.

If I understand. 80% dmg reduction from 8215 armor + 15% damage reduction would not make 100% damage reduction. Rather the formula would be [Damage taken(percent of damage reduction from armor)= y] Then (damage taken - y = z) [ (z (15% dmg redu from shoggoth) = x] x= damage received.
10k damage taken with 80% armor damage reduction with 15% shoggoth damage reduction.
[10000(.80) = 8000] (10000-8000 = 2000) [2000(.15)=1700] and 1700 is x which is damage received.

Initial Dmg inflicted x (Armor reduction)(Dmg reduction)

Say you'd be hit for 10000 dmg, have 80% of armor related stuff and arc shoggoth. Just plug in the values and you'd get

10000(0.2)(0.85) = 1700 dmg inflicted

Question. Everyone says max armor is 8250 at lvl 76 what about lower lvl? 61pvp for example. I’m rocking 13800hp, 9669 armor on one drag and 14800hp, 9097 armor on the other drag. I can’t tell which is better and sometimes it seems the more armor build.
