Not in the sense that more gold was added to the game, but indirectly.
Since many players looted arcane and heroic pets, this influx of pets (which resulted in the drop in price) attracted many players who had pure gold on them to spend their gold on these pets (seizing the opportunity when pet prices are at an all-time low), which resulted in more gold introduced to the community. (From a few very rich players to the rest of the game)
Those prices are not a reflection of actual "WORTH", those prices are what an individual is selling it for ATM.......
It's up to the buyer to decide if they are so in need, they are willing to pay to keep competition out of the way and get a more exclusive vanity......
People have the freedom to list things for what they want.... If it's crazy to you, ignore that item......

They are overpriced. These overprices happen as a trend. Someone or a bunch Overpriced in auc, with a lot marketing that price is accepted which also causes people to buy as an investment, even hoard which causes it to raise even more and magically be triple the price of what it was a short time ago. Gold loot didn't bump it's price, overpricing and market strategies did.
So basically some dude or dudes are or is buying all the vanities and hoarding it.
