L30 PvP mage guide

With the overwhelming amount of new L25-35 PvPers, thought i would make a little guide to help with (IMO) the best class at that level.

GEAR:
At level 30, i have used a few different gear set ups for mages. My favorite so far is a shivering talon set. There are problems for each class, but it seems as if shivering has the least amount.

With a STR setup, other mages can easily kite you and pretty much kill you within a matter a seconds. A INT setup will offer high mana regeneration, but it seems like damage is most crucial at that level. A DEX setup will provide very high damage and DPS when combined with a DEX attack ring that has 11 damage and 1% crit.

BUILD:
I have spent about 10 platinum so far testing different builds and my favorite so far is a long ranged (semi) rushing build i have created.

You will need 6 points on each of the blessing buffs, 6 fire, 6 drain, 1 on each ice attack, 1 heal, 1 lightning, and 1 magic shield. Use the kiting combo Fire, Frostbite, (run back) heal, (run up) drain, ice, fire. For rushing up use Drain, Frostbite, Fire, Lightning...

For killing mages higher than you (or just a great nuking combo), try this. Buffs, and when you get within the 12M range, use mana shield, drain, frostbite, fire, lightning, icestorm, fire, lightning.

Tell me how you guys like it (i have killed many L35 voodoo mages and have over a 3:1 KDR by using this setup)

His gear reccomendation is for level 30 so mages cant wear the voodoo set until 35. Edit: Im not sure if I answered the question correctly lol...

Nick, you might want to think about 6 lightning.
Nearly all level 26-30 mages use it for twinking, because

1. It deals nearly the same amount of damage as a 5 fire
2. Its cooldown rate is much faster, so you can use it more frequently

Just take this into consideration.
Also can you manage to also have a level 25 int helm on? They require 55 int, and they add mana regen.
So for gear Shiv armor, talon, shield, level 25 int helm.

Yes, I know. Today I was using 6 both buffs, 5 fire, 6 lightning, 4 drain, 1 heal, 1 magic shield, and 1 frostbite.
It was fairly decent, but I enjoy the fast kills you get with the build I posted above. I'll post this one any ways.
