I find it easier tbh..especially now that we dont need to root it anymore
On gingerbread, [2.3.4]: use ur power button to screen shot,.
On honeycomb: activate screenshot option on screen or display setting, then long press the recent app button on left lower corner to take the shot
The result will be saved on gallery in a folder named screenshot

I'm using 2.3.4 on my Thunderbolt. Stock OTA update from Verizon. Support is supposedly there for taking screenshots, but I can't find a good free app to do it. Any tips?

If u update it into 2.3.4, then u dont need any app to take shot, just use your power button,.when u press it..it supposed to give u options for power off, flight mode, and screen shot... it works like that on both of my gingerbread gadget,...hope it works 4 u too ^_^

No, unfortunately not on my tbolt. native support is there in GB, but not utilized in the software.

Maybe when HTC releases ICS it will be a useable feature.
