At first I seen the token drop and vendor chest costs in the preview. I thought it would take 15+ runs just to be able to afford a 250 token chest which would drop a very low amount of gold. After running once I made 40 tokens which is a very good amount. Very nice event, even get many pve kills.
Tips on maxing gold drop.
1) Use Finesse, Mind, and Fury jewel elix.
2) Use something that piles enemies and kills. Terror blade / Venim aa. Rog use dusk bow for 2 arrow spam norm attack. Dusk might help.
3) Use luck on wave 1-2 use gold loot on boss in wave 3.
4) Chests I am not sure yet, I need to do some comparison. I am glad they don't auto open so I am able to hold 100x 250token chests and open them in a yt vid maybe.

I was told you can sit in middle with it and spam norm attack with venim aa and wipe waves fast.

For rogues, glinstone set especially for the proc works like a charm for pulling in mobs. You can also use whims aa for the same thing.

On the first few hours of release, yes. But event already had a couple of patches; making mobs tanky.

I like booty, it's not the same money / economy breaking event from before. You can still make tons of gold, but skillfully

glint set better for rog with trap skill 100%pull also use spirit weapon/gear to level up too
