Hey i just got elite staff not long ago i need help what is the best/fastest way to get the skratch staff to proc? When im in evg or dm i need to proc fast....i just switched to mage to try it out something new idk much about mage pls help

A lot dots.... Ie... Fb or charged time.... I notice gale aoe also process it often...
Try hitting fireball if you have the burn dot or you can try clock with tick damage since more hits (either by your skills or your normal hits) guarantees a faster proc activation, same as for other classes (rogues with razor shield or dot nox bolt or with wars axe throw with bleed or windmill). Hope this helps!

When your shield skill is in CD, slowing the mobs (clock) aren't as helpful as reducing damage received (curse) and increasing your damage dealt (curse) in evg.
Why?
1. Once you got close enough even if they are slowed they can still be deadly when there are a cluster of them along with bosses.
2. Clock skill requires you to get closer for short period of time, and that itself is dangerous if you get pulled over by the spiders. Curse can be casted at a distance if you max the skill.
Magma's AA helps out with triggering the proc.
