Leap Day is special in itself... heck, it only happens once every four years! In 1940 the Academy Awards made the day extra-special when Hattie McDaniel won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role of "Mammy" in the 1939 blockbuster film "Gone with the Wind", becoming the first African American actress (or actor) to ever win an Oscar! (See? That's really special!)
It was groundbreaking in it's time for many reasons (it won 8 Oscars), and obviously by today's standards it may seem a bit cheesy, but I urge you, truly, if you've never seen it - suspend your snark for a few hours and enjoy an amazing film. It is a wonderful story and you won't be sorry, I promise!
