Cant seem to figure out 1v1 mage fights in new L40 meta.
It's just as the title says. I use 195 armour without founders. Im aware that this must make a difference since every single other mage uses them and have +15 dmg advantage which stacks over the fight. Probably comes out to +200 dmg or something as they use more skills and get more autos off. This seems significant but I used to have no problem beating mages with them. Either they got better or I just got worse.
I'm asking for advice because it is disheartening to be beaten by every single mage at the lvl despite trying hard. Some things I know are holding ur drain to use after theirs, healing their frost, spamming light and hitting ur combos. This isn't enough apparently.
What I want to know is when do I use drain? Do I only heal when frozen? Why doesnt my drain heal anything and theirs do?
Is there no universal combo that who ever hits it first wins? E.g. at 66, first to hit drain light fire always won.
As well as any other tips u feel i shud know.
My build is 6 light 1 frost 6 fire 6 buffs 1 ms 1 rev 5 heal 6 drain and no debuffs so it's a solid one. Pretty sure everyone runs this or very similar.
Im using whamm armour, 40 hallo str helm, 40 str 40 dex, rest int.
Would appreciate some solid tips since rn im not rlly enjoying 40.
P.S: I'm sure founders and max ammy must be crucial otherwise why do literally all other mages use them? However, I fail to see how it is that much of a game changer.
