Yea I have the same question , and also wanted to know if hauntlet is one of the maps that drops high essence if is that considered low level map

In terms of the difference in drop rates: our goal is to make farming energy at (or above) your character level more effective than farming low-level content. Previously, since you could go anywhere to farm essence (and players then naturally gravitated to the lowest levels that made sense for it) the global drop rate was made especially low. Our experiments this year with 'hard level ranges' for event loot, and 'soft level fall-off' for jewels have brought us to this new system... and this new system's intention is to offer a better drop rate for even-level kills that falls off considerably as you out-level the content.

With respect to the Hauntlet content, I believe that the zone scales up to max level - which should mean that you get the highest drop rate. I am not 100% positive about this and I'm not at a place where I can check the actual data. That said, I'll check this evening and if I'm totally wrong about this, I'll amend this response with the corrected info.

+1 to this. But if you do this, maybe it would be a good idea to Alter the LB ones so the people who do run for Top 5 will have something special and not the same as the ones you can buy in Plat Store. Would be a solid win for Plat Buyers and LB Runners.

But my original question I guess I'm confused? I was under the impression 12/25 it was the Aura only not the Vanity Set? Your reply sounded like you were talking about the Vanity Set and not a Aura only. Cause I thought only the Vanity Sets have the Explosion Procs but Auras by itself don't come with that?

I'd have to disagree with the latter part of your statement. Yes, players do say wow sts nice event and blah blah but cmon u must give credit when credit is due. The events recently are good and time killing. Im grateful at least that sts has been keeping us occupied with back to back events during these troubled times. Are we suppose to poop on their work everytime they post a thread about an event? Even if we dislike it? That's kinda far fetched it you asked me mate.

When the cold winds blow, dragons stir. Syrillax is back for another year, but her brood continues to grow, and with it, the threat to Frozen Hope. The residents of Frozen Hope have opened their gates to all Arlorian heroes willing to take up arms against the dragons.

The Winter Event runs for 3 weeks from 12/17 to 1/7, with a 3 day cooldown.

This is an Energy Event. Energy Essence drops everywhere in the realm but the chances to loot are higher when fighting monsters at (or above) your level, and lower when fighting monsters below your level.

Bane Item: Orb of Ursume

The Orb of Ursume is a special item purchasable only for Platinum that will help you along your way through mobs of frozen enemies and increasingly challenging bosses. Having the Orb in your inventory will reduce the critical rate of bosses by 6% and deal up to 50% more damage to monsters and bosses in the Mount Spyr Pass zone!

The best news of all? If you purchased an Orb in past years--you're set! Same orb, same perks.

Bane Item Upgrade

The Orb of Ursume can be upgraded with a recipe that drops from Syrillax. The upgraded version of the orb works in the Brooding Grounds in addition to the original zone.

Kick off the Winter Event by entering the Mount Spyr Pass portal. Fight bosses and baddies, earn tokens, and loot some key vanity pieces to this year's new sets.

Most importantly, snag the Weak Flamestones and open chests that drop in the zone to earn Icy Dragon Scales. These will be instrumental in defeating Syrillax's brood later on.

Event Zone: The Brooding Grounds

Throughout the Winter Event, Syrillax's brood egg begins to stir and all Arlorian heroes must gather to defeat it before it gets out of control!

The egg resides in the Brooding Grounds, which opens for 1 hour every 3 hours for a chance to crack the egg and make sure what's inside doesn't leave those grounds. While you wait, craft Dragon Flamestones as your ticket to the fight. When you enter the zone, one Dragon Flamestone will be removed from your inventory, the egg will hatch and the fight will commence!
