I doubt it, know some people with 100+ characters. Maybe 999 might be cap but who has 999

I read a post once that said that an over abundance of characters would be deleted.

Some people used to use them to hold gold, but with the new gold limit they shouldn't need to anymore. My guess is that as long as you're not making multiple accounts to do bad things, like troll or be toxic, then it should be okay.

If there is no limit of characters per account nobody should be punished for having n amount of chars (not talking about multiple account using, which is banable as you mentioned). They should limit it if there is a reason to not have unlimited chars. I have never heard of a limit either.

The only reason I see for multiple characters is to hoard stuff. Multiple like 30+. Red eggs alone cost like 500 gold each and rise to 3k+ each, don't see why anyone wouldn't hoard them. Just to hoard 50mil worth you need 100 characters, but hey that 50m turns to 300mil in the end and red eggs drop story tokens so open them make alts and hoard.

welp if u are old player...some use it to hoard op nice 3 and 4 letter ign...then used that as alt pvp twink or use to create new acc on new device or some even sell the rare nice ign(not sure if it illegal or not if via al gold)...and nowdays mainly for stashing more item as most of short letter ign was taken by old plyer...haha

I have 300 caricatures 1 account tho and yes I need them all for storage or to play as I like to not get bored so I try different things thus there is prob a 999 limit on a account but I haven't reached it yet wish me luck jk but also any new seasonal also counts as another toon so you shouldn't worry buddy long as you don't creat multiple accounts your golden hope that helps

Prof name trading is against the rules not sure on gifting a name tho but you would have to ask Al staff before doing anything like that hope that help

I don’t reckon name gifting being a problem as said reason for name trading to be illegal would be the risk of getting scammed.
When gifting something, which would imply its free ofcourse, shouldnt fall under the risk of getting scammed category if that makes sense.

But its still a slippery slope to go down, i would always say contact a dev beforehand to explain the situation.
It could look suspicious when someone just gives away a costly IGN
