Default So what is AL like? Does it still hold up well in 2020?

I'm looking for a game which I can enjoy on and off. However, I'm currently studying full time really so often play games for like 1 hour a day at most. It's why I picked up brawl stars.

Basically what I want to ask is:

Is AL one of those games where you can have a work-life balance?

I would say yes. Not everyone wants to play competitive and for the wealth status and thats fine, and IMO, the healthiest way to play games. You can play Arcane Legends for 15 mins a day and you can play 10 hours a day its up to you. Especially when there are events, do some even runs and then log off. Or Valley Gates. 1 round and after that go do something else

Its all personal preference, some people like how the game has aged some dont.
The best advice i can give you is give it a try and see for yourself.
You and only you can decide wether its worth your time

Imo it's one of the best games suitable to play when you don't have lot of time to spend(work/irl stuff) .... Even if u don't grind u have ways not to fall behind.. I took a 2 month break and was too less active... And I don't think I'm behind by a lot.. Also you can get lot of gold without grinding... In fact more with lesser effort.. If u can do stuff like merch and hoard-Flipping right.

If new to the game... Get to lvl 76.. Which will take like 1-1.5 hrs per day for 2-4 weeks.

Only thing is you won't be able to do leaderboard stuff... Which you can try in your holidays or smthing..

Basically its a game you can never get tired of.. I've been playing since 2012 and ofc have taken massive breaks but always you feel like coming back every now ND then.

If your busy a lot in real life and have only like 20 min or 1 hr to play and don’t mind just doing quest then yeah it’s worth playing. Cause your leveling should be pretty smooth. Just make sure to only turn in quest using xp daily exlir and weekly one so under a lot of xp. And what ever xp boosts you can get.

As a new player it starts out fun cause you get free gear upgrades. I’m not sure what level that ends. And you level fast.

New players will have a hard time buying good stuff cause everthing gonna cost a lot unless your spending plats.

Most store plats item are not worth the buy.
I always recommend checking cs for how much things are selling for before you buy them for plats because you’ll find some things cost so much plats but only cost a little bit on in game gold.

You’ll reach at higher level and sometimes you’ll run out of quest to do. especially if you been turning in quest without all the xp buffs. At that point you can log in for like 30 min and do daily’s quest (repeatable quest) once a day.

One good thing is about the game is if you some how find a way to make gold in game you can buy most plat item in cs (auction house) for gold.

It will take a really, really long time to level without having gold/ plats to buy xp boost items think.

These are my experience as a new player.

But the best thing is to do is try for your self and see if you like it.

And another thing all the people that I met are really nice for some reason on this game and really friendly with giving advice on forum and in game . Very helpful

The game can be pretty repetive and boring, but you should give it a try.

As someone whos deep into the endgame of genshin i can confirm that endgame is not there,it purely exists of farming gear with good rolls or farming ingredients to level up your talents/weapons. Also the entire progression of your characters is tied to a enegry system where you have to wait 8 min to refresh 1 enegry where most activities in 'endgame' cost 20-40 and the world bosses 60 a week

theres a major update every 6 weeks with this last update added an entire new region.

If you're looking for a fun decent game that looks amazing genshin is surely for you, if youre not sure just hold of for like 6 months or so and there will be alot more added to the game.

Edit: it is a pretty good f2p game, you can do all content with the characters youre given
