In bars whenever you are too young to drink, the bouncers draw a large black X on your hand, signifying that you cannot drink. Straight edge people embraced this X to show that they do not drink (or do anything else).
So Sparkstans is actually a straight edge guild. The X is proof o this. It should probably be capital though, to distinguish it.
