Will they be introduced someday? I sure would like to have a shotgun that shot fire... or lightning. Either one.

I think they're called Powers?
Star light, star bright...
Well since there's no auto target or auto fire it would be a lil hard to hit your targets with guns I personally would love to see some two-handed weapons like a big ol buster sword like Cloud from FF VII or maybe a scythe.

Scythe? yyessssss. Lame guns? no. That's reserved for the human enemies.

I don't have someone to aim my gun! Oh noes! But, then again, I started playing video games before they had stuff like auto target and auto saves. I actually had to play the game, not tap one button to lock then spam another until the baddie quit moving. Also, please, no big goofy jrpg swords that no one could possibly use without throwing their back out. Also, add shotguns.

No, melee weapons own, the ranged weapons is why i quit SL
I would also like to see some specially made vampyr guns like the Hellsing series has. It wouldn't be that hard to bind a key for targeting and then unload with infinite ammo. I am also curious to know about guns. Me wants them.
Real Vampires use power... FIRE POWER.
I was also thinking interactive cut scenes like in star wars and god of war. Where you can complete a boss fight or perform an execution by having to tap certain buttons at certain times.
Imagine ripping a shotgun from a CPD's officers hand, breaking his arm, stomping him to the ground, & then blowing his face off with said shotgun.
All at the push of some buttons.

Yeah, I also thought that auto targeting was the biggest flaw of the mmo genre. It always gave ranged classes a huge advantage. I think mmos will become much better when they eliminate the auto target mechanic. An mmo of that type would be more skill based. A mage really could have a one shot fire ball which would be balance because they would manually have to aim it, and their opponent could manually dodge it.
One day...
w/o having read the thread...
I think without the targeting system in place in PL and SL, it would either:
a. look bad, with you twitching everywhere
b. be impossible to line up
or c. hit where you didn't shoot
I can't help but think of Diablo, a game that plays VERY much like this one. No auto targeting for spells or the bow/crossbow, and it worked quite well!
For the record, I hate guns in games, but it can work without autotargeting.
