I think so, if you talk to tiptop, the npc next to the leaderboards while you're in gold tier, he says something about platinum tier being a farmer's dream, giving improved drop rates for all the things people are after...I assume that includes plat eggs

Also, after I got to plat tier I've been getting way more plat egg drops, but that may just be luck
