The fish can be used to craft some pretty OP new elixirs, if that interests you.
Also, you can open the fish and grab the gold that they’ve eaten :-)

It's overall as separate Class leaderboards don't make sense for this.
Top 10 get a banner and a trophy, and there are special prizes for the #1 Angler (Title, Fish Plaque... that sings).

You can indeed tie - but it won't be easy... since you get a random number of points per fish that you catch.
